Alpine Grind

The Rossland Alpine Grind is closed indefinitely, due to the Coronavirus. We ARE offering pre-order/pick-up only thin-crust PIZZA on Tuesdays and Fridays. John’s specialty! Go to to place your order. Pizza time slots have been filling up very quickly. You can also order coffee beans, ground to your specifications. Email John at for details on which beans we currently have and what the prices are.

The Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Grind is still open. We are currently taking donations to a large gift card that is being used to pay for coffee and baking for hospital staff. Alternatively, you can order a gift card for a specific hospital care worker. Or, of course, for anyone you like, to be used at either location, now or in the future. If you’d like to participate, email John at So far the response has been amazing. Let’s keep it up!

We are now selling E-gift cards. To buy one for yourself or anyone else, please go to The card will be emailed to the recipient, and they can use it at either location.

The Alpine Grind is Rossland’s favourite coffee shop and eatery, centrally located across from the post office in the picturesque mountain town of Rossland, B.C. We serve locally roasted Oso Negro coffee and espresso drinks (the best in town!), fresh-baked-daily muffins, scones, cookies, cinnamon buns, and more. Gluten-free baked goods are also made in-house, and we bake our own baguettes and focaccia breads. Everything’s made from scratch. Enjoy an egg frittata grilled on a bagel or our homemade granola for breakfast, then come back for a gourmet panini and homemade soup, or a beautiful salad with organic greens for lunch. In the summer, cool off with a smoothie made from real fruit (no mixes here!) or an iced or blended drink in air-conditioned comfort. Don’t miss pizza Fridays, with John’s amazing thin-crust, Neapolitan-style pies. And if you like, you can complement your meal or dessert with a beer, as we are licensed.

We also have a second location, at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, B.C.

See you soon!
